Principios Éticos y Buenas Practicas
The articles published in the Journal Biofab are submitted in compliance with the ethical principles contained in the different declarations and legislation on intellectual property and specific author rights of the country where they were carried out in the studio. For this reason, researchers or authors of articles accepted for publication and that present research results, must download and sign the declaration of originality, of assignment of rights and of total compliance with ethical principles and specific legislation.
The Journal Biofab is governed by the ethics policies established by COPE and ICMJE.
Rights of people
In order to send a manuscript that contains details or personal information of the patients, the authors must obtain their consent and permission to be able to use the images and their data. The informed consent must be in writing so that it can be presented to the Editorial Committee, in case of any conflict. No supplementary material can be published or part of the article that has not been accepted by the patient.
Likewise, authors must follow and apply the WHO code of ethics on human experiments and the requirements for manuscripts submitted to Biomedical journals of the ICMJE.
Ethical considerations in the manuscript
Within Material and Methods, the manuscripts should contain information about: the informed consent of the patients who participated in the treatment or investigation, the current regulations for bioethical research and the approval of the Ethics Committee of the corresponding institution (in case not was necessary, the why should be clarified).
In the same way, all articles will be published with a subsection entitled Consent for publication, before the conflict of interest and funding, in which this information will be included.
The data and the complementary material must be correctly anonymized to maintain the confidentiality of the patient, which is why it is necessary to disseminate or eliminate the information that does not correspond.
Informed consent and patient data
It is necessary to have the approval of the corresponding Ethics Committee and the informed consent of all patients or volunteers present in the articles. The authors must have a copy of the consents in writing and must only send them if requested by the Editorial Committee.
In the case of videos, figures and tables, the data must be correctly anonymized to maintain patient confidentiality, which is why it is necessary to disseminate or eliminate information that does not correspond.

Otherwise, it will be rejected and if the article has already been published, the Editors will follow the guidelines established in the COPE flowchart.
Admissible Secondary Publication
The secondary publication of the same article, in the same or another language, is justified with the approval of the Editors and only when it is a question of disseminating important information to the widest possible audience.
However, it is mandatory to comply with these conditions:

- The Acta Editorial Committee must have access to the primary version.
- The secondary article should be intended for a different group of readers.

- Authors must add a footnote indicating that it has been published in whole or in part and must be cited in full.
- The title of the secondary publication should indicate that it is from a primary publication: full or abridged publication or translation.
Articles made with the same database
In case of receiving manuscripts from independent research groups or from the same group that analyzes the same data (public database or systematic reviews), the manuscripts will be considered independently. This is because they may differ in their methods of analysis or conclusions. If said interpretation or conclusions are similar, the Editorial Committee will give preference to the manuscript presented first.
